We Build Micro-SaaS That Actually Makes Sense

We are VibeM, a Vienna-based startup that builds micro-SaaS solutions for everyday problems. Not the flashy, never-been-done-before kind. The kind that's been around forever but never quite worked the way it should.

Our Philosophy

We look for those moments where people think "there has to be a better way" and build that better way. Task management. To-do lists. Getting things done. These aren't new problems. But the solutions? Often bloated, confusing, or just plain frustrating. That's where we come in.

About Markus & VibeM

Markus Höfinger is the founder and sole developer behind Zero-Friction Tasks. The studio name VibeM is the legal entity; Zero-Friction Tasks is the product. Both are based in Vienna, Austria.

Zero-Friction Tasks started in 2024 from a personal need: every existing task manager either required a corporate account, gated essential features behind a subscription, sent personal task content to operator-readable servers, or only worked on one device platform. The market had hundreds of options and none of them fit a privacy-conscious individual who used both Windows at work and an iPhone in their pocket.

The product is intentionally narrow in scope. There is no team feature. There is no plan to add one. The opinionated bet is that the personal task manager category is underserved precisely because every other product is trying to also serve teams. By saying no to teams, every design decision can optimize for a single user managing their own life — speed of capture, privacy of data, ubiquity of access.

Why You Can Trust the Privacy Claims

Privacy claims are easy to make and hard to verify. Zero-Friction Tasks makes them verifiable in three ways. First, the REST API at /api/v1/docs documents the encryption surface — what is encrypted, what is plaintext metadata, and how authentication works. Second, the data-protection page at /data-protection explains the cryptographic model in detail. Third, the zero-knowledge architecture means that even if the operator wanted to read user data, they could not — the keys do not exist on the server.

This is not a "trust us" guarantee. It is an architectural guarantee. The same model is used by Signal, Bitwarden, and Standard Notes.

What Drives Us

Minimalism

Every feature we add, we ask: does this make things simpler or more complex? If it's the latter, it doesn't ship.

Attention to Detail

The micro-interactions. The edge cases. The things most people won't notice but everyone will feel.

Zero Friction

We measure success by how little our users have to think. One tap. One task. Done. That's the goal.

User Needs First

We don't start with technology and look for problems. We start with people and their frustrations.

AI That Actually Helps

We're not building AI wrappers that slap a chat interface on everything and call it innovation. We're integrating AI where it genuinely solves problems.

  • Smart task parsing that understands what you meant
  • Auto-categorization that learns your patterns
  • Natural language input that just works

Why Micro-SaaS?

Big doesn't mean better. Focused does. We build single-purpose tools that do one thing exceptionally well.

Zero-Friction Tasks captures and manages your tasks. Period. No CRM bolted on. No project management "features" nobody asked for. Just tasks, done right.

"When you try to be everything to everyone, you end up being nothing to anyone."

What We're Building

Zero-Friction Tasks is our flagship product, but it won't be our last.

We're constantly looking for those everyday annoyances that deserve better solutions. The ones where people settle for "good enough" because nothing better exists. That's our sweet spot.
